The Art Week Conversations & Tour 2017

The Art Week Conversations offers 3 talks in Considering Art Markets: The Philippines, Southeast Asia and Singapore; and The Art Week Tour – Considering Artists. The talk panelists are experts in the field – including Patricia Chen, Wang Zineng, Isa Lorenzo, Mark Goh, Moira Lang, Rachel Teo, Teo Han Wue and Trickie Lopa.

The Art Week Conversations are insightful, grounded in actual practice, and provide collectors and would-be collectors meaningful ways to navigate the art market.

Introduction to Writing for Visual Arts for newcomers to the arts industry, and also gallery professionals wishing to sharpen their critical writing skills. 

This course provides practical training in critical appreciation of art; developing the practice of interpreting artifacts, and writing skills for formulating and producing written texts for the public eye. Each session includes participation in written appreciation, description and analysis. Topics are taught through live practice exercises with actual objects using live museum exhibitions as reference, and group discussion.

Art Writing E

Experience Programs

Understanding Art & Auctions

Introducing the concept of what, why and how people collect art. Examines buying & selling processes including exhibitions, fairs and auctions.

One-day workshop with group work and discussion/presentation for effective engagement. Where possible live exhibits are visited.

Understanding Contemporary Asian Art Workshop

  • Half-day Art workshop – Talk and gallery tour, including art appreciation by group work.
  • Open to galleries, corporate groups and special interest groups. Venue on request.
